Causation is not correlation. I do not know to what specific condition you are referring but polio eradication is not most likely the cause of this supposed outbreak. Paralysis can be cause by a number of different factors including other infectous diseases. It is most likely did not appear after polio was eradicated rather it has always existed and was often misdiagnosed as polio. As polio became more rare, it was less likely that it was misdiagnosted. It may be of small comfort to those who have the condition, but the eradication of polio actually helped. Now that the condition is less likely to be misdiagnosed, we are more likely to detect it, develop treatmeants, and even develop a cure.
